Uh, hello. My name's Caitlin. I live in a really small town in Alabama, (Er, Rachel. I don't think near you.) and I have been a Christian since January 2002. That was 5th grade for me. I'm having a really hard time right now, you know? I want to do so many things, but I want to please God at the same time. I love fantasy books, but at the price of my faith? My friends... I need new ones, or at least try to lead these to God. The worst thing is, I'm homeschooled, and I haven't seen them since September of last year. Also, there is the girl, Vicki. I really need you guys to pray for her, just as hard as I am. She claims to be a Christian, and she goes to the same church I do, but she hangs out with these really depraved people. I mean REALLY bad. Just, please. I may not know you, but through God you can help.

Hi!

I think it's okay to read fantasy books. I'm a pretty big Harry Potter fan, and don't really feel like it's hurt my faith.

It can be hard not having Christian friends, but the best thing you can do now is to try to be loving and emulate Christ. If your friends get a good impression of Christianity and Christians through you, that's one of the best things you can hope for. But it's also cool that you're here, because it's a good place to meet people who will support and help you in your faith.

I was homeschooled too, for two and a half years. I really miss it! Do your best to keep contact with your old friends but if things don't work out, that's okay. There are five billion people in the world.

I'll pray your friend Vicki.

o.O That was a long comment. Sorry! <3 <3

Sometimes I wonder about my old "friends". They are the weird kind of people. Not good weird, bad weird. Like, bring dirty comic books to school type weird. They were okay 5th and 6th grade, but when we went to 7th grade, it's like they tripped and busted their heads through a wall, suffering permanet brain damage. I mean really. Come on people! When our parents were kids, they wouldn't even know that sort of language in the 7th grade, much less use it in front of people Maybe the 5 billion people will be better, although I doubt it...

(Pray for Vicki, and Quin and Torsten and Ray! They are all so... I don't know. Help-Needing. I cried for them last night while I was praying. I felt really childish, but that just shows you how much I need everyone's help!)

I know exactly what you mean. I'm sure you know this, but they're just sort of sad inside and don't know what to do. It leaves an impression on them to see somebody with Christ just enjoying life.

I have remembered to pray...and I will continue to.

Yeah, nothing wrong at all with fantasy. I used to be really into fantasy, but I grew out of it when I was a freshman in high school. I actually liked it the most when I was homeschooled (for one year in seventh grade). Unless you feel like fantasy books and such are straying you away from God, there's nothing wrong with them.

Well, Mandie, my step-mom, was talking about all that creepy witchcraft stuff, and I guess it just scared me. I think anybody who actuallt believe witchcraft is cool needs to watch "Hangman's Curse". Scared the squeedeleespooch outta me...

guitar_chik, You were homeschooled in seventh grade? That's when I started homeschooling, last year! I'm going into eighth grade now, homeschooling with me sister, Mack, who is going into seventh. I'm going back to the high school in ninth grade.

Lol, that's OK. We all make typos. But yeah, I hated being homeschooled. I only did it for that one year and then my mom put us in public school.

I love it. I'm making new friends, but sometimes I really want to go back to the high school. I miss band class. I got kicked out, along with another one of my homeschooler friends, because 1) we were a liability (or something. I may be wrong!) 2)the school was getting no money from us being there. The thing that really hurts me is that the previous principal let homeschoolers march. I want to march!
